San
Diego Table Tennis League
Ping Pong Fun Under the
California Sun

The San Diego Table Tennis League (SDTTL)
was created by Xiangyi Lin and me, two students in San Diego’s
University City High School. We are both table tennis
enthusiasts disgusted by the almost nonexistent influence of
the great sport in the lives of San Diegan people. Our goal is
to gather all table tennis lovers throughout the city of San
Diego and introduce the sport to those who do not play but
wish to do so. The league is open to all ages and levels.
To achieve our goal, we have put up
advertisements throughout the streets of San Diego as well as
online on many San Diegan websites. People of every skill
level, age, ethnicity, and both sexes are welcome at the SDTTL.
Not only do we play competitive matches among the members, we
also teach beginners, giving them the chance to better
understand the rules of the game and enjoy playing the game.
We can make any beginner who is determined to learn an expert
on the game, including the rules and strategies to win.
Playing table tennis in our club is a
great exercise. We all play to the best of our ability, in
both the mental and physical aspects. Even though the table is
of limited size, the players must be able to move quickly in
all directions in order to attack and defend.
Joining a club like ours can also prove
to be a great social activity. Here in the club, everyone has
a common language, table tennis. After sweating and shouting
over the ping pong table, conversations take place easily,
starting with table tennis and extending to things beyond. For
teenagers like us, our club has provided a collective social
power that can guide anyone away from the unhealthy influences
of drugs, alcohol, and gang violence.
While we continue to expand our club, we
have to obtain the support the ping-pong lovers throughout the
nation in our efforts to provide the San Diegan people with a
sport to enhance physical ability and social life. For info
