Tournament Directors: Tournament sanctioning is a vital step when planning successful table tennis events. The USATT Tournament Guide gives directors the following advice:

"12.a. Scheduling dates. As soon as a tournament is planned, the sponsor should contact the Regional Tournament Coordinator to determine if the desired dates are available...No dates are guaranteed until the sanction request is submitted and the sanction fee is paid."

Sanctioning Committee

1. A list shall be published in USATT Magazine of tournament directors who are delinquent in filing tournament reports and/or paying monies to the USATT.
2. No club and/or tournament director shall be granted a tournament sanction while having outstanding reports and/or monies owed to the USATT.
3. It shall be the responsibility of each Regional Tournament Coordinator (RTC) to assist in the collection of any monies owed to the USATT.
4. Regional Tournament Coordinator meetings shall be held semi-annually in conjunction with the U.S. Open and the U.S. National Championships.
5. Any deviation in tournament procedure from the USATT Rules and Laws of Table Tennis must have prior written approval from the National Tournament Coordinator.

Ratings Committee

1.  All tournament results must be submitted to USATT Headquarters no later than 14 days after the completion of the tournament.
2. A fee schedule approved by the USATT Board of Directors to penalize Tournament Directors progressively for delinquent in submitting tournament results after the completion of a sanctioned tournament. The schedule will be as follows:
   
   Postmarked later than 14 days after the last day of the tournament - $100
   Postmarked later than 21 days - $200
   Postmarked later than 28 days - $300

Submission of Tournament Reports postmarked later than 5 weeks(35 days) after the last day of the tournament will not be accepted and the results will not be processed. The sponsoring club will be reported to the disciplinary committee for additional action.

Tournament Classifications: All USATT sanctioned tournaments are classified using a "star" system, which is based on the total amount of prize money to be awarded in the tournament. The cash prize range associated with each of the star levels is to the right.  The last column reflects the sanction fee for the specified star level.

0 Stars - $0-$400 in prize money - $40 - $401-$1000 in prize money - $80 - $1001-$3000 in prize money - $150 - $3001-$6000 in prize money - $300 - $6001+ in prize money - $400 - Reserved for the U.S. Open and the USATT Nationals - N/A
