Dear
Participants,
Greetings! It’s my pleasure to welcome you to the 2004 U.S. National Table Tennis Championships in exciting Las Vegas, NV. It’s my privilege to be your Tournament President for this week, the second Nationals NATT has been engaged to organize and manage.
Our Tournament Director, Fong Hsu, has once again prepared a schedule of events and play that minimizes conflicts so that you can concentrate on the event at hand. We want to provide as smooth an operation as possible so that you may, without distraction, play your best when it matters most.
While there is a lot of work and effort involved in staging the tournament, we are ably assisted by a quality group of volunteers – both staff and officials – as well as Doru Gheorghe and USATT’s dedicated staff for guidance, aid, and courteous help. I also thank Chris Burner of Martin/Kilpatrick, USATT’s Table Sponsor, for venue design and layout assistance.
It’s gratifying to have competent co-workers, but the biggest thrill for me comes in seeing you, the USATT members, competing for National titles in the various categories. It’s my goal to make the tournament a professionally run event that allows you to concentrate on your play, enjoy your time in Las Vegas, and be properly acknowledged for your victories.
So lastly, and most importantly, I thank you for making the decision to attend this year’s tournament. I appreciate the trust USATT has placed in me in managing this important championship. I promise to do my best with an outstanding tournament, the memory of which you can cherish for years to come.
Best wishes,
Richard Lee
Tournament President
